Surrounded by the high peaks of the Kamnik\u2013Savinja Alps, it offers both starting points for mountain hikes and numerous easy, pleasant walks along rivers, waterfalls, and through forests. Towering above the valley is Grintovec, the highest peak, at 2,558 meters.<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The valley enchants visitors in every season: in summer with its refreshing coolness, in autumn with vibrant colors, in winter with snowy silence, and in spring with the lush awakening of nature.<br>Below are the main trails and attractions you shouldn\u2019t miss while exploring the valley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ko\u017eelj Trail<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the most popular walking paths in the valley is the Ko\u017eelj Trail, leading from the lower cable car station to Velika planina all the way to the source of the Kamni\u0161ka Bistrica River. The trail follows the river and winds through the forest, making it enjoyable year-round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Length:<\/strong> approx. 3 km (one way)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Walking time:<\/strong> 45 minutes\u20131 hour<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Difficulty:<\/strong> easy, suitable for families and the elderly<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Along the way, you\u2019ll encounter two special natural attractions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Mali izvirk<\/strong> \u2013 a small yet picturesque spring.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Predaselj Gorge<\/strong> \u2013 where the riverbed of the Kamni\u0161ka Bistrica narrows into a deep rocky chasm.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Source of the Kamni\u0161ka Bistrica<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>At the foot of a rocky wall emerges the powerful source of the Kamni\u0161ka Bistrica, considered one of the purest springs in Slovenia. The water flows into a scenic pool where visitors can freely fill their bottles with fresh drinking water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Memorial Park in Kamni\u0161ka Bistrica<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Not far from the Kamni\u0161ka Bistrica Lodge, at 680 meters above sea level, lies a memorial park accessible by a marked, easy path (about 30 minutes\u2019 walk).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The park is dedicated to those who lost their lives in the Kamnik mountains. Among the memorials is a plaque for Toma\u017e Humar, a renowned Slovenian alpinist who died in 2009 on Mount Langtang Lirung in Nepal.<br>It is a peaceful and respectful place of remembrance, as well as a pleasant stop during a walk through the valley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">King Alexander I of Yugoslavia\u2019s Hunting Lodge<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In the valley stands the famous hunting lodge of King Alexander I Kara\u0111or\u0111evi\u0107, built between 1932 and 1934 to the designs of Jo\u017ee Ple\u010dnik.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The building was intended as a retreat for the royal family and is one of the few Ple\u010dnik works commissioned by a foreign royal house. Today, the lodge remains an architectural and historical highlight of the valley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Predaselj Gorge<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>At an elevation of about 600 meters lies the picturesque Predaselj Gorge, carved into the rocks by the Kamni\u0161ka Bistrica River. A marked forest trail from the Kamni\u0161ka Bistrica Lodge leads there (about a 15-minute walk).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>From the bridge, a stunning view opens into the depths, where the river cuts through pools, sometimes up to 35 meters deep.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A massive boulder is wedged in the riverbed, over which the trail passes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>At <strong>Veliki Predaselj<\/strong>, stands a stone \u201cPrince\u2019s Table,\u201d where, according to legend, Emperor Maximilian once dined. Historical records confirm that Archduke Charles ate here in 1564.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Slightly lower lies <strong>Mali Predaselj<\/strong>, a shorter and lower gorge, also featuring a natural bridge of a wedged boulder.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Wooden steps allow you to descend all the way to the bottom of the gorge in about 10 minutes. Due to steep terrain and damp ground, caution and proper footwear are recommended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Orglice Waterfall (Orli\u010dje)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the valley\u2019s most beautiful natural attractions is the Orglice Waterfall, also known as Orli\u010dje.
