28th Traditional Accordion Competition at Velika Planina
In the magical surroundings of Velika Planina, visitors are warmly invited to enjoy the sounds of Slovenian folk music and the performances of talented accordion players. The RIGELJ Society of Velika Planina kindly invites you to attend the 28th Traditional Accordion Competition, where musicians of all ages will come together to create a unique musical atmosphere.
Join us on Saturday, August 2nd, 2025, at 10:00 in front of the Zeleni Rob Guesthouse, for a memorable day filled with music, beautiful views, and warm company. Come and experience an authentic piece of Slovenian tradition!
Upcoming Event – Trnič Day at Velika Planina
Be part of a special experience dedicated to trnič – the unique cheese of Velika Planina! Surrounded by shepherd’s huts and pristine nature, you will discover the secrets of this love-inspired cheese.

📍 Where: In front of Preskar’s Museum, Velika Planina
At the event, you will learn:

🔸 how it is traditionally produced

Mass at the Chapel of Our Lady of the Snows
Every Sunday at 2 PM, Holy Mass is held at the Chapel of Our Lady of the Snows.
On the Feast of Our Lady of the Snows (August 5), Mass will take place at 10 AM. On the Feast of the Assumption (August 15), Mass will be celebrated at 2 PM.
