Round-trip ride with cable car and six-seater chairlift
Enjoy a panoramic ride on one of the longest cable cars in Europe without support pillars. In just minutes, you rise above the valley and enter the world of Velika planina, where views open in every direction. The new chairlift (installed in 2023) will quickly and sustainably take you from the top station to the highest point, Gradišče. During the 7-minute ride, enjoy views of the Kamnik–Savinja Alps and cows grazing freely on alpine pastures.
Tasting of homemade delicacies at Skodla
Indulge in the best the plateau has to offer – cheeses, cured meats, herbal spreads, and other local specialties. You’ll also taste Rušovec, a sweet spirit made from dwarf pine shoots gathered on Velika planina. For the youngest guests, homemade lemonade is served.
Visit to the Preskar Museum – an original shepherd’s hut
Step into the only authentically restored shepherd’s hut on the plateau. Experience the simple yet rich life of former shepherds and discover how they lived here for centuries.
Demonstration of trnič cheese making – the cheese of love
Learn the story behind one of Slovenia’s most unique cheeses. The live demonstration brings you closer to the craftsmanship and symbolism of this traditional product, found only on Velika planina.
