Exploring the Kamniška Bistrica Valley
After completing the guided tour of Velika Planina, your guide will take you to some of the most fascinating spots in the Kamniška Bistrica Valley.
You will visit the Predaselj Gorge, where the Kamniška Bistrica River has carved a narrow passage over millennia, reaching depths of up to 35 meters in some places. Within the gorge, a massive rock is wedged, creating a natural bridge with a path leading across it. After a brief calm, the water flows energetically again through the smaller gorge of Mali Predaselj, which is shorter and shallower. Here too, a rock is wedged between the walls, forming another natural bridge.
From the gorge, you will continue to the source of the Kamniška Bistrica River, one of the purest rivers in Slovenia, where you can admire its crystal-clear beginnings.
LUNCH IN ZELENI ROB INN
Gostilna Zeleni rob is the only inn on Velika Planina. The terrace offers a wonderful view of the surrounding hills and the Ljubljana basin. They offer home-made dishes such as stews, sausage with sauerkraut and buckwheat spoonbread, goulash and excellent sweet cottage cheese dumplings. We have prepared special menus for groups.
CHEESE TRNIČ MAKING PRESENTATION
Trniči are a type of hard cheese with a characteristic pear shape, which are made in the area of Velika, Mala and Gojška planina in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps. They are made of cottage cheese, cream and salt and decorated with special ornaments, which are embossed with relief-carved wooden planks or sticks, the so-called i. fonts. Trnič is used in the daily diet, often as an addition to dishes.

Okrepčevalnica Skodla is the perfect venue for hosting workshops, such as the traditional trnič cheese-making class, lectures, meetings, or other gatherings.
