The alpine pasture is coming back to life with its authentic shepherding tradition. The first cows were already spotted on Gojška Planina this past weekend, while the herds are now arriving on Velika Planina throughout this week – some already today, with others expected in the coming days and over the weekend.

Tomorrow, the Gradišek Shepherd’s Hut will open its doors to visitors, and from Wednesday, June 10 onwards, the Preskar Museum will also be open daily from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Every day at 1:00 PM, visitors will have the opportunity to watch a demonstration of how trnič, the traditional cheese of Velika Planina, is made.
